VoIP & Unified Communications Specialist

DVI Communications Inc. is a leading Technology and Networking consultancy and systems engineering firm with focus in IT, Telecommunications, Security and Audio-Visual systems.  Our services include turnkey Design/Build of Technology/Infrastructure systems for client IT Infrastructure in existing or newly-constructed facilities for integrated and unified communication systems, IT systems, data centers, wireless systems, video systems, and physical security systems.  Specifically, DVI provides the complete life cycle of deployment services for all elements of the Client Infrastructure including the deployment of large VoIP systems for financial services clients that includes state-of-the-art VoIP technology, as well as integration with existing systems.  Services are deployed in the intranet, WLANs, PSTN, and 4/5G cellular environment.  E-mail, messaging, mobility, business video, web-based services, social media, and storage are part of the unified communication elements that DVI’s client seek to integrate and look to our firm to support.

  • Requirements Definition
  • Existing Technology Retention Analysis
  • Technology Inventory, Asset Compilation and Tracking
  • Design, Engineering Acquisition Support (voice, datacomm, video, security and audio-visual systems)
  • Multimedia/unified communication integration
  • Multi-disciplinary Coordination for Technology Systems (with Owner, Architect, Engineer, Construction Trades, Contractors, Owners Reps.)
  • Systems Deployment/Implementation Management (Vendor/Project Management)

Also:

  • The candidate will function as a Technical Leader or Project Contributor on small and large scale VoIP projects
  • The candidate will demonstrate proficiency with the design, installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and monitoring of core LAN/WAN and UC services
  • The candidate will demonstrate proficiency with Telco voice services such as PRI, BRI, E1, POTS, and SIP Trunking
  • The candidate will demonstrate proficiency with the design, provisioning and troubleshooting of WAN technologies such as MPLS, T1 and DS3 circuits, HDLC, PPP and ISDN PRI/BRI
  • The candidate will develop, implement, test, and support the client’s projects as they relate to the VoIP and Unified Communications and overlay onto Network/Distributed systems
  • The candidate will act as a technical consultant/project manager to provide Client VoIP deployment/integration, documentation, and training on new VoIP network technologies and hardware
  • The candidate will be responsible for the implementation and support of Cisco Unified Communications applications, including the configuration and deployment of Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Call Manager Express, Cisco Unity Connection, Unity Express, Cisco Presence, Emergency Responder Solution, Unified Contact Center Express (UCCX), Meeting Place, Jabber, Webex, Expressway and Prime Collaboration along with other hardware and software to support these applications, including the configuration and deployment of Integrated Voice Gateway Routers with Survivable Remote Site Telephony (SRST) services.
  • The candidate will be responsible to
    -Implement Cisco IP Telephony applications including Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco Unity Connection Messaging, Cisco UCCX, Cisco Emergency Responder, Call Manager
     Express, and Unity Express
    -Provision SIP trunks, design dial plans
    -Integrate Cisco UC applications into Active Directory environments.
    -Implement Cisco Unity Connection in configurations supporting Voice Messaging, Unified Messaging with Exchange, or Unified Messaging with Lotus Notes
    -Configure voice services on all Cisco LAN/WAN hardware including: ISR Routers, and Catalyst switches
    -Prepare documentation for internal and external customers detailing configuration of deployed solutions.
    -Resolve operational issues involving Cisco UC applications

Candidate requirements:

  • BS Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
  • 2-5 years of experience as a technology-deployment: Cisco ISRs, Catalyst Routers, East/West Ethernet Fabrics, PBX, Cisco VoIP, SIP, Linux, Perl, PHP
  • At least 1 year implementation and support of many of the following:
    – Cisco Unified Communications Manager systems, in multi-site environments
    – Cisco Unity and Unity Connection systems
    – UCCX solutions including advanced scripting capabilities
    – Cisco Presence, Jabber, Expressway and Prime Collaboration
    – Meeting Place and Webex solutions
  • Desirable:
    – Extensive knowledge of Cisco’s IOS operating systems
    – Experience with VMWare virtualization technologies
    – Traditional PBX experience is desired
    – Firewall and VPN implementation and support capabilities desired
    – CCNA, CCNP, CCVP, CCIE Voice
    – Cisco Voice specialization roles are desirable- Cisco Unified Contact Center Express
  • Tri-state travel required (40-50% of time)
