Senior Project Manager

DVI Communications Inc. is a leading Technology and Networking consultancy and systems engineering firm with focus in IT, Telecommunications, Security and Audio-Visual systems.  Our services include Relocation Of Technology/Infrastructure Systems, where we provide complete support for Client IT Infrastructure relocation/activation (LANs, WANs, servers, Data Centers) when the Client physically relocates systems, personnel, or offices, or for in-place renovation or construction of new facilities.  Also, the firm provides turnkey Design/Build of Technology/Infrastructure systems for client IT Infrastructure in existing or newly-constructed facilities for IT systems, data centers, security systems, wireless systems, video systems, and physical security systems.  Specifically, DVI provides the complete life cycle of deployment services for all elements of the Client Infrastructure including IT systems including:

  • Site Selection
  • Requirements Definition
  • Existing Technology Retention Analysis (Move as is, replicate, upgrade or replace)
  • Technology Inventory, Asset Compilation and Tracking
  • Design, Engineering Acquisition Support (voice, datacomm, video, security and audio-visual systems)
  • Multi-disciplinary Coordination for Technology Systems (with Owner, Architect, Engineer, Construction Trades, Contractors, Owners Reps.)
  • Systems Implementation Management (Vendor/Project Management)
  • Network Services Provisioning (Ordering, Relocating Lines & Services)
  • Systems Acceptance Testing
  • Cutover Support
  • Technology Systems Move Coordination and Migration Planning
  • Post Cutover Support

In the context of these services the Senior Project Manager will support

  • Needs Assessment
  • Conceptual Design
  • Definition of performance metrics (QoS, availability, management) of integrated system
  • Budgetary Estimates
  • Detailed Design, Engineering and Specifications Preparation
  • Bid and RFP Process Management and Support
  • Bid/Proposal Analysis, Evaluation and Recommendation
  • Technology Vendor Contract Negotiation
  • Information Technology Construction, Installation and Implementation Management
  • System Acceptance Testing, Commissioning and Cutover Support
  • System documentation (As-built, operation);
  • Post-cutover Performance Monitoring; and,
  • Development of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans.

Also is expected to:

  • Develop requirements, outlines, budgets, and schedulers for information technology projects.
  • Oversee all phases of project from conception to completion.
  • Completes projects by coordinating resources and timetables with user/client departments.
  • Manage, as needed, teams of consultants, programmers, developers, and analysts.
  • Ensure project is completed within budget and on time.
  • Follow PMI standards to manage projects through the project lifecycles of initiation, planning, execution and closure.
  • Develop work-breakdown structures.
  • Develop project tracking and variance reports.
  • Assemble risk management plans and work effort documents.
  • Create project documentation.
  • Provide risk assessment.
  • Review estimates.
  • Assess new opportunities.
  • Prepare proposals.
  • Flag potential issues.
  • Manage multiple vendors.
  • Utilize in-depth technical knowledge and business requirements to design and implement secure solutions to meet customer / client needs while protecting the corporation’s assets.
  • Develop security standards, procedures, and guidelines for multiple platforms.
  • Communicate job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results of subcontractors.
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Maintains DVI’s reputation, effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies.
  • Verifies application results by conducting system audits of technologies implemented.
  • Recommends information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.
  • Accomplishes financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective action.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.

Applicant’s Requirements:

  • BS or MS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
  • 3-7 years of experience as a technology-deployment project manager
  • Proven expertise in the majority of the following areas, both technically and in terms of deployments: networking, LAN cabling, GbE/10GbE Layer 2 switch deployment, PoE, lateral/riser/distribution/campus/core networking infrastructure, WLANs, 802.11ac, low-power lighting, routers, firewalls, proxies, MPLS and other carrier services, VoIP, video-over-IP, cloud services, data center technologies (e.g., servers, virtualization, VMware, Cisco UCS), and cloud services.
  • Ability to support multiple projects and multiple clients simultaneously
  • Project Management Professional (PMP®) Certification is highly desired
  • Networking/Industry/Security certifications are highly desired
  • Tri-state travel required (40-50% of time)
