Carrier Services Networking Analyst

DVI Communications Inc. is a leading Technology and Networking consultancy and systems engineering firm with focus in IT, Telecommunications, Security and Audio-Visual systems.  Our services include Relocation Of Technology/Infrastructure Systems, where we provide complete support for Client IT Infrastructure relocation/activation (LANs, WANs, servers, Data Centers) when the Client physically relocates systems, personnel, or offices, or for in-place renovation or construction of new facilities.  Also, the firm provides turnkey Design/Build of Technology/Infrastructure systems for client IT Infrastructure in existing or newly-constructed facilities for IT systems, data centers, security systems, wireless systems, video systems, and physical security systems.  Specifically, DVI provides the complete life cycle of deployment services for all elements of the Client Infrastructure including IT systems; this entails:

  • Requirements Definition
  • Existing Technology Retention Analysis (Move as is, replicate, upgrade or replace)
  • Design, Engineering Acquisition Support (voice, video, recording/storage, security and audio-visual systems)
  • Technology selection for copper and fiber cabling and supporting switching systems for LANs and SANs
  • Technical and financial assessment of carrier services, including SONET, EPL, MPLS, IP/VPN, and wireless services (domestically and international).  Also VoIP, Internet, and video services. Also cloud services.
  • Multi-disciplinary Coordination for Technology Systems (with Owner, Architect, Engineer, Construction Trades, Contractors, Owners Reps.)
  • Systems Implementation Management (Vendor/Project Management)
  • Network Services Provisioning (Ordering, Relocating Lines & Services)
  • Systems Acceptance Testing
  • Cutover Support
  • Technology Systems Move Coordination and Migration Planning
  • Post Cutover Support

In the context of these services the Carrier Services Networking Analyst

  • Select the appropriate and cost-effective solution for the Client
  • Provide performance management and establish the delivery of top tier services and solutions to the client.
  • Plan the work, delegate effectively and follow up with Clients, providing support and guidance.
  • Manage vendor relationships and work (and telecom service providers)
  • Mitigate escalations of client incidents and issues. Assess and troubleshoot, consult with vendors, and coordinate with other teams for problem resolution.
  • The Analyst will manage assignments, and oversee the work performed by the project team (including equipment suppliers and carriers).
  • Oversee and manage projects ranging in size, complexity, and scope.
    • Create schedules, assignments, priorities and direction to the network/voip client team members and vendor personnel.
    • Develop work and cost estimates, program priorities, resource requirements, project scope, and objectives.
    • Tailor the project or program planning to meet the needs of the client and the interests of the company.
  • Lead the creation and delivery of solutions as a Subject Matter Expert.
    • Provide expert guidance to Clients on new solutions and designs for Telecom and VOIP
    • Provide Clients with insight and recommendations on suggested solutions.
    • Identify solutions to ensure the delivery of a quality product or service to the client.
    • Provide documentation and communication to Clients for status, coordination, objectives, and performance.

Candidate requirements:

  • BS Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
  • 1-4 years of experience as a carrier services technology-deployment including SONET, EPL, MPLS, IP/VPN, and wireless services.  Also VoIP, Internet, video services and cloud services.
  • Experience dealing with Verizon, AT&T, and other Tier 1 carriers
  • Cisco VOIP and Unified Communication is a plus
  • Video and Webex knowledge preferred
  • Project management
  • Strong technical and industry experience (Telecom and VOIP)
  • Cisco certifications is a plus
  • Tri-state travel required (40-50% of time)
